a soft roof rack suitable for 2 minimals that will fit on

a. ford fiesta and/or

both 3 door...the rear windows dont open on either so the rack needs to stay on with just access to the 2 front doors and boot.

know a girl who drives a mini 3 door... she just uses a normal soft rack and feeds the rear straps through the hatchback boot...
open it up, tie the straps around it, close it.

that make sense?

whatever works... don't think my friends rack is all that tight at the back, just enough to stop it sliding side to side, as long as the front strap is properly tight and there's no movement in the boards it should be all right.

jUST TO COMPLETE THE THREAD, i ENDED UP GOING FOR THE FCS singlesoft roofrack, it fits really well on my Ford Fiesta 3door, the back pad go into the boot on the outside of both boot inges and go around the phneumatics of the boot then stap in using the regular clamping system,

works fine

i would say this kit is good for any 3door that has a bit of extra lip to the boot itself.

if the boot went straight down after the hinge there wouldnt be anywhere for the padding to rest.

thats about all you need to know.

thought it might work... just be careful you don't go too tight around the pneumatics if the bend you might not be able to open or close your boot.

If the side windows pop out put the straps through there. If not run them through the boot. Once had 5 lads, 3 coffins with 10 boards on a Citroen C2 on a Portugal trip a few years back. Exhaust was dragging on the tarmac mind u...

Problem i found with the FCS soft rack was that the big buckle loop thingy got in the way of the boot shutting. That was on a Honda Civic where the loof area of the boot is pretty narrow.

I've got a proper Thule rack for the car now but I recently bought a Rhino rack which i've used on a few hire cars when travelling and it's been great so far.

Good way to avoid bending the boot lift struts is to put the rack on kind of loose, close the boot then do it up tight from inside. Remember to undo it before trying to open the boot and remember to take the board off dirst as well. Suppose everyone knows that though.
